This is an outstanding way to learn some of the minutiae - and some important new things - about our revolution. There are lots of well reproduced paintings by each artist, and almost as many interesting, often humorous, anecdotes. Staiti makes the people and paintings come alive. These artists were not just artsy-fartsy guys. Whether died-in-the-wool patriots or ambivalent, they were vital participants in our (and British) history.
